How we heal
The inner healing process is a natural five-step sequence our bodies move through when recovering from trauma or prolonged stress.
If we’re impacted by trauma or stress for more than three months, and physical symptoms and pains have arisen, then our inner healing process has become blocked, weakened, or suppressed.
Functional Energy Movement (FEM) helps restore our inner healing process with 3 Levels of Resiliency Training. These levels combine evidence-based therapies with nature-informed practices to release embodied stress and trauma while also strengthening our ability to withstand future challenges.

For those who frequently feel overwhelmed by their pain, Level 1 moves you through steps 5, 1 & 2 of the inner healing process (outlined in the above image). Level 1 is designed using practices from EMDR, polyvagal theory, medical qi gong, and trauma-informed mindfulness.

We will strengthen your body & brain’s access to healing postures, allowing you to resolve any inner tension and conflict getting in the way of your healing. Level 2 is designed using practices from neuro-plastic pain reprocessing, Generative Somatics™, and Somatic Experiencing™.

We will begin the integration of your inner healing with your outer world by you creatively expressing yourself and allowing life to be an experience of regenerative art. Nicky Mac - healer & somatic therapist, LMT
For over a decade, Nicky Mac has been studying the sciences and practicing the arts of inner healing (i.e medical qi-gong; neuroplastic pain rehab; sports medicine; ayurveda; Somatic Experiencing™; massage therapy; capoeira; Neuro-Linguistic Programming™; esoteric medical aromatherapy; trauma-informed yoga & meditation; sound healing; plant medicine; and ecstatic dance).
His study and practice began as a passionate inquiry, but became a way of life after his brother’s death in 2017 revealed to him the lifetimes of pain and trauma living buried inside him, his family and his environment.
